A Taste of Spring!

The weekend brought about really pleasant weather in NY so my sister and I took our usual stroll through Central Park! Surprisingly the lake was completely frozen but it still looked so beautiful! I always enjoy coming here to just relax and take in the scenery. I didn't want to leave and I plan on spending a lot of my spring and summer days soaking in the sunshine right in this little spot. Golden Girl

I've been taking a much more minimalistic and simple approach to fashion, beauty, and makeup. I really love a more natural, easy, and effortless look and this also applies to the jewelry and accessories I've been adding to my outfits lately. Go Bulls!

On Friday I had a few errands to run during the day before I attended the Bulls vs. Knicks game in the evening with my boyfriend and his buddies. My boyfriend is really good friends with Joakim Noah so he always gets tickets to all his games and stays after to chat with him at the end. I wore my beanie and shades in the daytime and decided to go beanie-less for the game and fix my hair up a little. It was a total waste of time, however, because my hair fell flat within five minutes of leaving my house from of all the humidity! Maybe I should have stuck with the beanie? lol There's always a million vendors and sellers around my house and I purchased this beanie for just 5 bucks! I love sharing bargain buys with you guys! Sunny Sunday!

I spent the entire day with my younger sis accompanying her to a highschool open house and walking around the city enjoying the gorgeous weather we had yesterday! I wore a light jacket but made sure to wear a heavy scarf to keep me warm. This was probably one of my most comfortable outfits and it was perfect for strolling around the city. Hope you like!

The Denim Jacket!

I have always been in love with denim jackets! You can wear them in the Spring and Fall and they go perfect with almost anything. They add a cool factor to your outfit and what's best is you can add studs and pins or even rip them up to turn them into your own little DIY project. Kanye West and Kate Lanphear are obviously fans of denim and who wouldn't be with so many variations of the trend. They come in so many different shades and you can find them everywhere. A few years ago I purchased a denim jacket in a light wash from H&M that I'm still obsessed with and wear all the time. Shortly after I purchased it I saw photos of Kim Kardashian with the exact same jacket on! My most recent denim purchase as you can see on the bottom left in the photo was from the Salvation Army thrift store for only 2 dollars! It's a darker blue and says Planet Hollywood on the back and looks really old school just the way I like it ;) Proof that you can find a good denim jacket anywhere!

Today was so windy out I could barely keep my hair out of my face for more than two seconds. Stepped out on my sundeck to take a few photos and now I'm getting ready for a couple of events I'm heading out to tonight. Hope it's a good time! xoxo
