At this very moment I was supposed to be on a flight to LA, but as you all probably know, Hurricane Sandy has swept through NY and caused major havoc on transportation, travel, and pretty much everything else. Then I received that dreaded email that my flight was cancelled. I was majorly bummed to say the least. Now I leave tomorrow afternoon but I guess I must see it as the universe at work. Maybe for whatever reason I'm supposed to be in NY right now. Luckily my entire family and myself are doing just fine. Considering I live in a high rise building in Times Square, I haven't had to deal with power outages and flooding. I feel very blessed to have gotten through this storm safe and sound and I'm praying for anyone who has had a rough time through all this and the people and families who were affected by this hurricane. Fortunately the storm has died down and I get to say farewell to NY tomorrow for a few sunny days. My schedule is going to be a little tight while I'm out there but I'm sure I can schedule in a couple of things so feel free to email me at michellejailine@gmail.com.

Shopping on Melrose and Alana Hale Spring/Summer 2012!
Peter and I did a little shopping on Melrose earlier that day and then after a quick change of shoes, we were off to another show at Ace Gallery! While I was there I met Teresa and Emily from The Style Map and Olivia Lopez from Lust for Life. They were all so sweet! Check out these photos of some of the designer installations and the Alana Hale spring fashion show!

Sachika Spring/Summer 2012
So FINALLY I'm going to fill you guys in on LA Fashion Week! I've been so exhausted and it has literally taken me weeks to get back into a NY state of mind! The first fashion show I went to during LAFW was the Sachika show at Ace Gallery! I had wanted to make it to this show so bad because it was the first show of the week I had gotten an invite to and I knew there would possibly be a couple celebrity sightings! lol My boyfriend and I arrived a little late so we had to grab a seat anywhere. They opened up with a killer dance routine and there was even a musical performance in between the show! There were some really elegant, glamorous dresses along with some shorter fitted ones perfect for nights out at the club or a special event. There were even some pieces perfect for a vacation or a day at the beach over a swimsuit! I had a great time and I can't wait to post about all the other shows I attended! I apologize for the crappy photos but my camera was not behaving! By the way, the shoes I wore the entire trip were these Steven Madden platforms. I wanted to pack light and they are my favorite, most comfortable shoes EVER!
